Ayurvedic Cleansing: Panchakarma



Are you having difficulty digesting life, emotions, food? Are you feeling unmotivated, tired and experiencing low mood? Try an Ayurvedic cleanse; otherwise known as Panchakarma. Panchakarma (translated to five cleansing actions) eliminates toxins while rebalancing your doshas, resulting in prevention of disease, longevity, and more ease. Ayurveda has known for thousands of years that mental and physical stress can slow digestion, cause inflammation and produce ama, or toxins. Detoxing and cleansing help us to get to and process the root cause of what ails us. Panchakarma resets digestion and allows us to process toxins naturally, thus ridding us of unwanted emotional and life patterns.

What to expect: The first phase is to alkalize your body, hydrate intracellularly, balance blood sugar, de-stagnate lymph, and thin your bile (in order to move and open detox channels). Phase two involves flushing bile, resetting fat metabolism and detoxing your fat-stored toxins. Phase three is about relighting your digestive fire. Each day will include gentle yoga, pranayama (breathing), meditation, and self-massage. Meals will change in each phase of the cleanse but will mainly focus on an Ayurvedic dish of mung beans (dhal), basmati rice, vegetables, ghee, and Indian spices among other things.


You will eliminate:

-Red meat/alcohol for estrogen balancing

-dairy for growth hormone resetting

-fruit for leptin cleansing

-sugar for insulin and testosterone rebalancing

-caffeine to reset cortisol

-gluten to support the thyroid

-chemical laden products to help the entire endocrine system.
